Claude Agents SDK will no longer use subscription; API credits included in plans

Update October 7, 2026: The Agent SDK monthly credit announced in June is no longer available. Claude Max and Team plans now include monthly API credits, which cover the Claude Agent SDK, the Claude API, and Claude Managed Agents. Claim them into a Claude Console organization and use them with an API key from that organization. Learn more about monthly API credits for Max and Team plans.

For reference, this replaces the following text from yesterday, October 6 [1]:

    > Update June 15: We're pausing the changes to Claude Agent SDK usage described below. For now, nothing has changed: Claude Agent SDK, claude -p, and third-party app usage still draw from your subscription's usage limits. The previously announced monthly credit, which would have been available to eligible claimants in connection with these changes, isn't available. We’re working to update the plan to better support how users build with Claude subscriptions. When we have an update, we'll share it before anything takes effect.

They have updated the site just now with a new sentence clarifying that subscription plans may still be used:

      > ...You can still use the Claude Agent SDK, claude -p, and third-party apps with your subscription limits.

does that mean I can use my max plan with API access (f.e. zed) AND have my plan's tokens untouched? like max + api credits?

does anyone know if this disrupts flows like t3code using claude agent etc?

how many API credits does one get?

    EDIT Max 5x = $100

    Max 20x = $200

    hmm.....

I don't see how it wouldn't. Paseo, T3, Zed, etc. all use Claude in the same way.

      Max 5x $100

      Max 20x $200

Team (Standard seats) $20 per seat*

Team (Premium seats) $100 per seat*

Discounted Team plans (Nonprofit, Scientists) $20 USD per Standard seat and $100 USD per Premium seat*

Oh, for goodness sake, can these people just make up their minds? I was just adjusting my workflow to leverage the SDK and `-p` from an overcomplicated mess I had to do spawning "real" CC instances. Guess I can toss that out and go back to the drawing board.
